A Cotton Tote Bag Eyelet Specification That Shows Both Faces

Build a cotton tote bag eyelet specification around paired parts, cloth layers and both finished faces. Ask Gahumi about a project-specific option.

A polished ring on the outside can conceal an unfinished question on the inside. Before approving an eyelet detail, turn the sample over and look at the paired components and the cloth they pass through.

A cotton tote bag eyelet specification should show an assembly, not merely a metal colour and a diameter. Ask Gahumi to assess the proposed assembly for your bag; a decorative opening is not an approved load-bearing attachment.

Explain what the opening is for

State whether the eyelet is decorative or intended to pass a named cord or other item. Identify the required action without presenting the hole as an approved handle attachment. If it is part of a carrying system, that wider system needs separate assessment.

Show the position on the bag drawing, including its distance from finished edges, seams, handles and printed areas. Name the component and fabric layers at that location. A hole in a single body panel is not the same assembly as one passing through a folded top edge.

For a 100% cotton body requirement, confirm the cloth composition separately. Metal or plastic hardware, any additional reinforcement and other trims do not become cotton because they are attached to that body.

Identify the front and the back as a pair

Prym Fashion’s component range distinguishes eyelet and washer constructions. It provides useful component context, not evidence that a particular model is suitable for this tote or supplied by Gahumi. Do not borrow the manufacturer’s durability or certification statements as finished-bag claims.

Ask the supplier to identify the proposed eyelet, any washer, material and surface finish together. Request the actual model drawing or a matched component sample where available. Keep inside opening size separate from outside flange dimensions.

Is a matching outer diameter enough to approve a substitute? No. Check the paired parts, intended material thickness, installation requirements and the completed sample. Two similar-looking rings may represent different assemblies.

Put the cloth stack on the same drawing

Ask which fabric layers the hardware will pass through and whether extra reinforcement is proposed. Have the supplier confirm compatibility and the necessary hole preparation. Do not specify tooling or a hole size by guessing from the visible opening.

If a lining is present, show whether it is included in the assembly or remains separate. Ask how access and finishing will work without assuming a hidden backing patch or additional component is included in the base price.

Our lining decision guide covers that separate inner construction. The eyelet drawing needs to identify exactly how the proposed layers meet at this location.

Inspect the completed detail from both faces

Look at the outer finish, the inner edge and the surrounding cloth. Record distortion, exposed irregular edges or movement that needs review. Check the intended cord or item through the actual opening, without assigning a safe load from a short demonstration.

Can a tidy outside photograph approve the eyelet? No. Retain a view of the reverse and inspect the sample itself. The inside may matter to the bag’s contents and to the way someone handles it.

If a pull-out, repeated-operation or other performance requirement matters, define it with the technical reviewer and a suitable testing service. An agreed appearance check is not that evidence. The construction inspection guide helps keep visual observations distinct from formal performance results.

Release the assembly rather than the colour name

Keep the paired component references, drawing, cloth layers, appearance sample and authorised changes in one record. Ask what needs rechecking if the hardware model, coating or fabric changes later. A familiar colour name should not silently approve another part.

If documentation about materials or surface finish is required for the intended market, state that requirement and have the responsible reviewer assess the evidence. This article does not establish a compliance certificate or a universally suitable hardware choice.

For a reusable tote project, discuss the whole construction and intended care as well as the decorative detail. Send Gahumi the location drawing, proposed function, fabric requirements and quantities. Ask whether an eyelet option can be considered and what development sample would be needed before quotation and release.
