BUYER GUIDE

Check a Retail Security Tag on the Actual Cotton Tote

The barcode can identify the right tote while its security arrangement remains unresolved. Connect the nominated device, complete bag and shop acceptance.

The tote’s barcode brings up the right item at the till. The shop still needs to approve a security tag. Those are two different decisions, and a bag should not reach the sales floor with the second one unresolved.

Check cotton tote security tag compatibility using the retailer’s nominated system, the actual tag and a complete bag sample. The buyer’s job is to connect those requirements, not to choose a device from its appearance or invent an attachment method.

Ask which system the shop actually uses

Ask the store’s security provider to confirm the proposed tote tag and detector combination. Request the relevant system and tag identification, technical contact and approved application requirements. Where several stores use different arrangements, record the differences instead of assuming one sample clears the entire programme.

Sensormatic’s hard-tag information distinguishes AM, RF, RFID and dual-technology configurations. Its dual AM/RFID example separates item-level identification from the EAS function. These distinctions are a reason to obtain a precise requirement, not a recommendation of one device for every tote.

Does a tote barcode replace an EAS tag? A product barcode does not establish that electronic-surveillance function. Keep the authorised product identifier and its retail scanning handoff intact while the separate security arrangement is reviewed.

Can every security tag work with the same shop system? Do not assume compatibility. Have the responsible provider confirm the nominated combination and any required acceptance checks. A description saying RFID alone does not tell the buyer every function the device provides.

Let the tag meet the real bag

A cotton tote EAS attachment trial should use the intended fabric, handle arrangement, lining, decoration and other relevant components. Give the provider the complete sample and ask which proposed location and fixing it can assess. Do not make a new hole or specify an unseen sewn-in device from an online photograph.

Checkpoint’s accessory-tag range lists handbag applications alongside named technology variants and associated accessories. That establishes a practical category for discussion, not evidence that a particular model suits this cotton construction.

Mark the provider-approved proposed location on a whole-bag drawing. Then review what the customer and staff must do with the tagged sample. Can they see the main graphic, locate the price and examine the intended pocket or closure? Does the arrangement catch a neighbouring bag or interfere with the agreed fold?

Use the actual shop display for that part of the review. Record unwanted marks, distortion or access problems for the responsible parties to resolve. A pinless description or a tidy photograph is not a universal no-damage guarantee.

Include the authorised checkout step

A cotton tote security tag removal check belongs with authorised store staff and the security provider. Ask them to follow their approved checkout procedure, confirm the required acceptance and inspect the bag afterwards. This is not a guide to defeating tags or choosing removal tools.

Keep the nominated device, bag sample and outcome linked. If another device or attachment is proposed, have the provider identify what needs reassessment. Do not turn one store’s acceptance into a promise of detection performance or compatibility everywhere.

Agree who applies the approved arrangement

Shop-applied or source-applied tote security tags create different supply instructions. Identify who supplies the approved components, who applies them, which location record is used and what the receiver must check. Any factory application and packing arrangement needs explicit project acceptance; it is not included merely because the order has hangtags.

Keep the cotton body specification separate from security-device materials and product claims. The illustrated tote is an exterior reference, not an approved security-tag assembly or evidence of theft prevention.

Send Gahumi the bag reference, quantities and the retailer’s approved attachment and packing requirements. Ask what can be considered for that project, while leaving security-system selection and acceptance with the retailer and its provider.
